The Power Laps segment features The Stig doing a fast lap around the Top Gear test track to gauge the performance of various cars. This is most often accompanied by cheesy music, foreign language learning CD's or, self help CD's, or as of Series 11, music by Elton John. The segment started in Series 1 Episode 1 of the current format featuring the Pagani Zonda C12 S and Lamborghini Murciélago. Below is a list of all the cars The Stig has taken around the track and their respective times.

Several cars did not make it onto the Power Board, despite being driven around the track by The Stig, due to them not being roadworthy, such as the Caparo T1. The standard roadworthiness test Top Gear use is whether the car can get over a {{#if:sleeping policeman|sleeping policeman|Sleeping_policeman}}.
