[edit] In this Episode

Review: Richard Hammond to Japan to try out Toyota's new i-Real concept "car", which actually turns out to be more like a glorified scooter. The moving chair has social networking capabilities to communicate with other riders and find destinations such as coffee houses. image:tgv.png

News:

Feature: James May visits Finland to learn why Fins are such good drivers. During his trip he meets two-time Formula 1 champion Mika Häkkinen, who teaches May how to become a rally driver. James then takes his newly found skills and competes wit other amateur drivers in a local beater race. He finishes in the middle of the pack and is quite proud of his efforts. Also in the segment, James May meets a Finish teen who is practising for his driving test, which includes time on a skid pad. image:yt.png

V8 creation: Jeremy Clarkson expresses his concern for the future of the V8 engine, and thus recommends finding other uses for it. His example is a Corvette V8-powered food blender, which he uses to create a "man smoothie" consisting of bovril, beef, brick, Tobasco, and manly other products. James May nicknamed the resulting drink the "bloody awful", and Richard Hammond claimed that it would "grow testies on your eyeballs" after being forced to take a sip. image:tgv.png

Challenge: The Top Gear trio claim they can make any car as fast as a Mitsubishi Evo X around the Top Gear test track, so the producers challenge them to do so with a Renault MPV. Clarkson wants to give it more "powerrrrrrrrrrrrrr", but the other hosts refuse, so they instead fit it with a better suspension, slick tyres, bigger breaks, and the spoiler off of a Honda F1 car. The result only makes the car slower, and with no budget left, Jeremy claims he can build a front spoiler out of wood to give the FWD car more forward downforce. The spoiler catches of fire, and the three had "back to the studio!". image:tgv.png

Star in a Reasonably Priced Car: Mark Wahlberg, the American Hollywood star well known in the car world for starring in the remake of the Italian Job, was scheduled for Top Gear after Russell Brand's show was cancelled due to an inappropriate event aired. Clarkson and Wahlberg spoke of the possible Italian Job sequel, and Wahlberg achieved a 1:48.7. image:tgv.png
