[edit] In this Episode
Review: Richard Hammond tests the new TVR 350C and finally pits it against the latest from another British institution: a Harrier jet fighter. Richard reaches the conclusion that it's a great car, but Jeremy isn't so sure, and contends that the latest Noble M12 3.0 is much better. Since they can't agree on which is best, they let The Stig decide. In the end, the Noble comes in with a time of 1:25, against the 1:27 from the TVR.
News: James rants about the VW Beetle. Richard introduces the new Astra, which apparently comes with lots of lights. News about Jonathan Ross. John Prescott's preposterous expenses on taxi fares. Jeremy was at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and all kinds of celebrities were there, too.
Review: Jeremy tests one of his favourite cars: the VW Phaeton. Despite initial concerns that it's a boring car, Jeremy is won over by all the astonishing attention to detail in each and every corner. In fact, in the studio he admits that this would be the car he'd buy if he were after a big four-door saloon, even over the Jaguar XJ.
Star in a Reasonably Priced Car: Alan Davis is the star in this episode. He posts a time of 1:50.0 in the Suzuki Liana.
Review: James tests Cadillac's latest prototype, the Cadillac Sixteen, at Goodwood Circuit. James believes it's too big, vulgar and stupid, but because of that he and Jeremy love it.
Challenge: Richard attempts to find Britain's fastest disabled person. He gathers 5 disabled racing drivers and puts them in a specially converted Porsche 911, under heavy rain. The winner is Lee Sheperd, with a time of 1:47.
Main Review: Jeremy tests a Range Rover tuned by a British company: Overfinch. It has so much power and torque that it manages to beat a Mercedes SLK 320 in a drag race, despite the Overfinch being on the grass. It's not that lucky in The Stig's hands, however, posting a time of 1:44, the slowest Power Lap ever.
Broken Biscuits Section 1: In the last few minutes of the programme, the team try to condensate some of the things they said they'd do, but in the end didn't. They start by commenting on the reliability of the Range Rover Discovery they had been lent for 6 months.
Greatest Car in the World: The winner is finally announced, and it is the Land Rover. Richard tries to put a model of a Land Rover in a plynth in Trafalgar Square, but he is stopped by the police.
Broken Biscuits Section 2: We see Richard Hammond's experiences in his first ever motor race. After this, Jodie Kidd is presented the Top Gear Award to the Fastest Star in a Reasonably-Priced Car. With this, the last episode of the season finishes.
