[edit] History

KUIPER Racing started as a small motorsports venture by a then 12-year old British boy who referred to himself as "Nereid", and whose household had just won the lottery. The company, whose name was reviewed in a recent interview with Autosport.com as a reference to the astronomer Gerard P. Kuiper, began with just 18 employees; 17 engineers and someone to serve the drinks. A factory was later built in Stapleford, Nottinghamshire replacing the abandoned Lidl store and the group secured a deal to manufacture gearboxes and certain engine pieces for Formula BMW.

Just months later, the company embarked on it's first major venture, designing and manufacturing a go-kart known as the KUIPER TKP14. KUIPER Racing soon grew in size, and in March 2007 KUIPER entered the international eye by working closely with GP2's iSport international team and in doing so helping Timo Glock score his maiden GP2 championship victory which saw him moving up the ranks to Formula One. Since then, KUIPER has secured deals with Vauxhall in BTCC, Audi Sport North America for the Lemans Series, and even at one point to manufacture flywheels for the Williams F1 Team.

The next big step came in 2008, when KUIPER Racing became their own independent racing team after they entered a Ferrari F430 GT2 to the 24 Hours Nürburgring. The team's efforts were underprepared, and even with DTM driver Mattias Ekström behind the wheel, the team came 8th overall. Disheartened, the teams engineers then focused their attentions on preparing a car for 2009 for the newly concieved Final Gear Wacky Races.

It was announced in March 2009 KUIPER Racing is set to form it's own racing series known as "Formula-K" starting from 2010. Details are sketchy, but it is hoped the league will be used to allow potential talent a chance for driving for KUIPER in the Wacky Races.

Preperations were rushed, but KUIPER Racing managed to secure a sponsorship deal with the Austrian drinks company Red Bull and acquire a Dacia Sandero from Renault S.A. With the car provided the engineers realised they faced a major challenge even with the generous budget Red Bull were keen to provide. The team worked overnight, and development lasted until the very last minute. The result was unexpected. One of the fastest and most technologically advanced entries that year. Project KO1, later to become known as "Dacia Sandero GT0 LM" (initial plans were to enter it in the LeMans Series, but these were scrapped due to budget restraints), harboured some innovative features. Most notably of which harboured similar nanotechnology to that found in DSRacing's Jessie Aromando. The car could be completely repaired, so long as the raw materials were avaliable. 2009 also saw Count Wilheim Von Smythe entering the races for the first time, and with that the Technical team wanted to ensure the car would be impervious to military attack. A radar shield was implemented, and the car from overhead contained a "Razzle Dazzle" livery to confuse the shape of the car, both of which proved useless. "Nereid" took the duty of driver alongside actor Rainier Wolfcastle in a Radioactive Man costume.

The car managed to a good start, and the team immediately took 2nd for position, which was soon to be lost as the Dacia struggled in the snowy conditions. Eventually once the weather had cleared, a hard push and some poor luck out in front resulted in a short-lived lead before being shot down by an incoming missile. This combined with a damaged front wing from over-exuberance with the throttle driving through NyLon Shopping Center meant the team was to linger in midfield throughout the race. Further misfortune came in the form of a VonSmythe Jollybiscuit, Nereid was admitted to hospital after eating one due to reportedly being in a coma. With the car ending up at the back of the pack, a huge, Nitrous-Oxide aided push saw the team somehow managing to finish a respectable 3rd.

[edit] Summer 2009

After a successful Winter Campaign, KUIPER Racing came back with a new logo, new sponsors and a new image.

KUIPER Racing's Summer campaign got off to a controversial start as three partnerships were announced on the same day. One would be with DSRacing, the two teams have signed a deal allowing the exchange of resources and staff. Clay Alcata had been announced as KUIPER Racing's first driver, with Sebastien Loeb co-driving.

The second partnership announced was the hostile takeover of the Meerkat Comparison website comparethemeerkat.com. As a result, a large portion of KUIPER employees are now meerkats. Sergiu, who worked for the Soviet Space Program in the 1980s will be assuming the position as Technical Director. Team DSRacing has provided an army of meerkat-powered Daleks for our convenience.

The final announcement came, as KUIPER Racing was to form a sponsorship deal with the Republic of France. In exchange for using French drivers, staff, sponsors and car, the French government was to provide unprecedented amounts of funding in motorsport. Just mere hours after the announcement, Switzerland and Germany objected to the deal under accusations of protectionism, whilst Britain chose to back France. A week later in an attempt to avoid possible World War KUIPER CEO now known as "PaperBiro" proposed what was called the "Geneva Pact" in meeting with the two main teams involved VonSmythe Industrie and veloceRACING, which was later replaced with a new proposal by Count Von Smythe who took advantage of his own deliberate loophole and as a result formed the Großreich. The next big step in the story came as the EU, British Commonwealth and China soon formed an alliance known as the "Entente Powers".

KUIPER Racing has also set up a base at Final Gear HQ. The "Manor" will be used for mainly testing, development and marketing purposes.

"Project K02" is due to be official unveiled this Friday.
