Jeremy Charles Robert Clarkson (born 11 April 1960) is an English television presenter, and writer who specializes in motoring. He currently writes weekly for the The Sun and Sunday Times, and is best known for his role on the BBC motoring show Top Gear.

[edit] Television

Clarkson is a television presenter. He is most known for being the main presenter of the motoring show Top Gear, although many other shows with him as presenter exist, including QI, Have I Got News For You and Grumpy Old Men. Some of them were once broadcast by the BBC, some more are available on DVDs. The most known titles include Extreme Machines, Speed and Inventions that changed the world. In addition to Top Gear, Clarkson occasionally makes his own direct-to-DVD films in which he drives a large selection of supercars in an exotic location. These DVDs also feature the destruction of many vehicles that displease him.

Clarkson is also well-regarded for his war documentaries, notably Jeremy Clarkson: The Greatest Raid of All Time, focusing on Operation Chariot, which was the codename for the raid on the large dry-docks at St. Nazaire. He also wrote and presented The Victoria Cross: For Valour, following the story of Major RH Cain (his father-in-law), who won a VC in Operation Market Garden.

[edit] Writing

Clarkson is a reporter not only on TV, but also in the press. He writes weekly for The Sun and Sunday Times, and has published a few books, such as The World According To Clarkson.
