[edit] In this Episode
Review: Richard reviews the new Caterham R500 SuperLight, pitting it against the Veritas RS3, concluding that the Caterham is both cheaper and much more fun to drive. The Stig's Power Laps reveal that the Caterham was not only faster than the Veritas, but also the Bugatti Veyron, clocking a time of 1:17.9 compared to the Veritas' 1:24.2. It was also revealed that Richard had forgotten to make up a second "fact" about The Stig, much to the amusement of the audience.
Review:Jeremy, encouraged by a letter from a "Mr. Needham", decided to take it upon himself to do a "proper" roadtest of the new Ford Fiesta, deciding that splitting the review into sections will help him to easily cover "all of the bases". As well as determining that it's a very good car, Jeremy also reveals that the Fiesta is "very green" and is perfect for evading "baddies" in a shopping centre, as well as serving as a personnel carrier which can seat three Royal Marines (and a driver), fit in a landing craft and comfortably fit smoke grenades in the cup holders.
News: Described as "news to warm the hearts of nations", James reveals that Jeremy Clarkson has lost his voice, allowing the other two presenters the freedom to talk about what they want. Among the subjects covered were Jeremy's victory in Heat magazine's "Weird Crush" poll, a taxi driver finding himself in possession of the Duchess of York's address-filled sat-nav and the fact that James' old Porsche had done 8.4(10^8) (840 million) revs during the 25 years he had owned it.
Challenge: James and Jeremy test Communistical cars, some with near-unpronounceable (at least for James) brand names, in a variety of ways to see if they were any good.
Star in a Reasonably Priced Car: Boris Johnson, Mayor of London, finally makes an appearance on Top Gear, where Jeremy immediately brings up the "bendy-bus" issue, among other things before showing the Mayor's lap in the Lacetti to the world. Due to the wet track, Boris' lap time suffered and he only clocked a 1:57.4, an "identical" laptime to newsreader Fiona Bruce.
